Tom Hammond started and incorporated Abundance Ag Engineering in 2023. He fully launched AAE end of 2024. He is a registered professional engineer in California in Agricultural and Civil engineering. He has been working in Engineering and Agriculture since graduation from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in Bio Resources and Agricultural Engineering in 2007 with an emphasis in Living Systems. In that time he has worked as an engineer and project manager in public municipalities, special districts, private consulting firms, and private businesses providing solutions for water, energy, mechanical, biological, agricultural and soil systems. He brings a wide breadth of experiences and knowledge in planning, design, construction, and operation of water and agricultural infrastructure and natural systems in California.
Tom grew up in Sonoma County and has been active in agriculture since he could sit and eat tomatoes and soil in the garden. It got a bit more serious with his first hotshot (no batteries) at age 2, then again with his first 4-H market steer at 10. His 4-H carrer culminated as a year 2000 Sonoma County Allstar. He has always been curious and it has lead him to some intersting results. Tom lives in Santa Rosa with his wife and two kids.
Tom has been told he has a persistent level headedness that helps complete projects on time, budget and scope.
Tom has been told his solutions oriented, whole systems, pragmatic way of problem solving yields great results.
My experience has been broad and at times deep with a focus on planning, engineering, construction and operation of water, soil and living systems in coastal California.
I have worked internal to Agricultural Businesses. I have worked for Consultant Firms. I have worked in Government.
From finding solutions to valve failures in the bottoms of reservoirs to pumpstations that can move 17,000 gallons per minute or pump systems that move 5 gpm; rainwater harvesting to surface water diversions, tractor wash stations to municipal waste water treatment plants and vinetooth ripper blades to trellis and trellis installation systems, landslides to grading designs, rural roads to highways, water rights to water availabiltiy analysis reports; conversions from diesel to solarpower, livestock water systems, hydraulic analysis, hyrologic analysis, capital improvement planning, and more, my experience is solidly in water infrastructure.
Send me an email or give me a call and lets talk about your vision or project or what you'd like to do.
Thanks.
